Invisalign Aligners are the clear way to beautiful straight teeth. This revolutionary type of ‘invisible brace’ has been used by millions of people worldwide and is perfect for anyone looking to straighten their teeth in a discreet and fast way.

This system is particularly popular in older children, teenagers and adults who may have had orthodontic treatment in childhood- but have since found their teeth have relapsed. Highly predictable and precise results mean shorter treatment times- making Invisalign a very affordable option for many people.

Virtually invisible

The innovative system incorporates a set of custom-made clear plastic aligners which are made from thin, clear, medical grade plastic. This material is extremely strong, durable and hygienic.

The aligners fit directly onto the surface of your teeth and are virtually invisible. It’s actually highly unlikely that anyone will even notice you are wearing them- unless you make a point of telling them.

Cutting Edge

Invisalign makes use of a cutting edge technology called Clincheck. By taking impressions of your teeth we are able to produce a 3D model on screen which is used to plan the course of your treatment in advance. We could even show you how your teeth will look following treatment.

Each aligner will be individually designed and manufactured in advance. You will wear each aligner in turn over two weekly periods, with each one exerting the necessary pressure required to slowly straighten your teeth in an effective yet comfortable way.

Suitable for mild to complex corrections on top and bottom teeth

Invisalign aligners can be used on the top and bottom teeth and are suitable for a range issues- mild to complex. Whether you are looking to simply ‘tidy up’ your front teeth or you want to improve severe overbites/under bites, gaps overcrowding and misalignments then Invisalign could be the answer you are looking for.

There are a number of advantages to the Invisalign system:

  • You treatment is predictable and planned in advance. See how your teeth are predicted to move and how long treatment will take before you even start!
As aligners are custom made in advance this results in shorter, less frequent appointments. They are also more hygienic.
  • No metal brackets or wires makes them perfect for those with nickel allergies.
  • Aligners are very comfortable as there are no metal parts to rub on your cheeks and lips.
  • Carry on with life as normal. Aligners can be easily removed if required allowing you to eat and drink as normal. Clean your teeth with no trouble. Remove your aligners for special occasions if required.
  • Wear your aligners with confidence. Due to their clear design and snug fit, your aligners are virtually invisible. Unless you point them out no-one will even notice. Carry on with your life as normal. Smile and talk to others with confidence during and after treatment.

The stages of Invisalign treatment:

  1. Before any treatment commences, we will give your teeth a thorough check to make sure they are healthy.
  2. Impressions of your teeth will be taken and used to manufacture your set of aligners. A detailed treatment plan will also be created on the virtual 3D treatment plan Clincheck ®.
  3. Your set of custom made aligners will be sent out. You will need to wear each one in turn for 2 weekly increments. Each aligner will need to be collected from the practice.
  4. You will need to attend regular check-ups (every couple of months) so that we can check the movement of your teeth is progressing as expected.

How long do Invisalign aligners take?

The length of treatment differs on a case by case basis and will range anywhere from 6 months to 2 years. Average treatment time is between 12 and 18 months.

Do I need to wear a retainer?

A retainer is always recommended for a period of time following orthodontic treatment. This will help to stop your teeth reverting to their original positions (as they can have a tendency to do).

Every patient will receive a set of three retainers- each made from the same strong plastic as the aligners.

Do Invisalign aligners hurt?

Invisalign is no more uncomfortable than any other straightening treatment which can all occasionally cause discomfort- particularly at the start of a new stage in your treatment (for example when wires are tightened or when new aligners are fitted). You should find that over the counter painkillers help to relieve any pain.

As there is no metal to rub on the inside of your mouth the aligners are highly comfortable.

The Invisalign system teeth moves teeth slowly and gently so there is actually less potential for damage to the teeth and/or roots.
